What’s your job? Where do you work?
I am the Principal & Creative Director of Rian Design, a design studio located near downtown Los Angeles.

What are your inspirations?
This is a tough one because there are so many inspirational things around me. But, I would have to say it is the relationships that I have with fellow designers, writers, artists, etc. in the Los Angeles community. Rian Design Hosts MOD COM Meeting
Rian Design hosted the monthly Modern Committee Meeting on Monday November 20 at Penthouse D in The American Cement Building.

The Modern Committee “MOD COM” is a volunteer group formed in 1984 in response to the rapid destruction of a generation of postwar buildings. The Modern Committee’s focus is 20th century architecture and related fields which reflect the heritage of Modernism and popular culture.

Studio Update : New Workspace
We are pleased to announce the new location of our studio. We have been in need of a new, larger space to work creatively. When we came across a penthouse loft in The American Cement Company building we knew our search was over.

This mid-century modern building provides the ideal work environment for our design studio. The structural beauty of the 225 pre-cast Xs (see photos below) on the facade are not only key to the building’s structural system but also offer a spectacular architectural element.

Working out of a loft on the top floor gives way to an amazing view stretching from beyond the famous Hollywood sign to the skyscrapers of downtown Los Angeles. We welcome you to come visit us and experience our new space with these amazing views.
