When Jan-Al Innerprizes, Inc. approached Rian Design, they were looking for an identity treatment for their newest business venture, Rackmount City.
Background
Jan-Al conceived Rackmount City to fill a niche that had been (surprisingly) overlooked: providing engineers, designers and rack mounting professionals with one-stop shopping for everything needed to assemble racks. Unfortunately, in their haste to get the brand to market, Jan-Al threw together a website that was less than ideally functional and not reflective of Rackmount City’s “cool factor.”
Design Solution
With a brand already up and running, time was of the essence. Rian Design decided on the unusual course of developing the identity and the website simultaneously, letting the work on one inform and shape the other. The final logo resembles actual rackmounting, with the “R” acting as the rack and the “C” acting as a rack component, and has a cool, tech-forward look that speaks to the market. Similarly, the website (still under development) combines a new level of service and features with a killer look that’s on-brand.
Results
Not only has Jan-Al received positive feedback within the industry for the ID work on Rackmount City—they loved the work so much internally they’re already discussing additional projects with Rian Design before this job’s completion!
